Phu Tho province has 2 more National Intangible Cultural Heritages

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just decided to include the traditional festival, social customs and beliefs of the Doi Tet of the Muong people in Thu Cuc commune and the cocoon robbing festival in Di Nau commune (now Tho Van commune), Phu Tho province, in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Tet Doi is also known as the festival of going down to the fields. This is an important traditional festival of the Muong people in Thu Cuc commune, taking place on the 7th and 8th of January. The festival is imbued with agricultural beliefs, associated with praying for good harvests, praying for blessings and preserving rice varieties, expressing gratitude to nature and ancestors.

The cocoon snatching festival is a long-standing festival, associated with the social life and production practices, activities and fertility beliefs of the ancient Di Nau people. The festival is held from January 4-6.
