The funeral will be held at the National Funeral Home, 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi, from 7:00 a.m. on May 24 to 7:00 a.m. on May 25.
The memorial service for former President Tran Duc Luong was solemnly held at 7:00 a.m. on May 25 at the National Funeral House; The burial ceremony was held at 3:00 p.m. the same day at his hometown cemetery, Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province.
At the same time, at Thong Nhat Hall (HCMC) and at Hall T50, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, the funeral and memorial service for former President Tran Duc Luong also took place.

According to information from the Central Council for Professional Affairs and Health Protection of Officials, former Politburo member and former President Tran Duc Luong passed away after a period of illness.
Despite the devoted treatment by the Party, the State, a group of professors, doctors, and his family, due to old age and poor health, former President Tran Duc Luong passed away at 10:51 p.m. on May 20 at his home.
He was 88 years old.
Former Politburo member and former President Tran Duc Luong was born in 1937, in Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho district (now Duc Pho town), Quang Ngai province.
He joined the revolution in February 1955 and joined the Party in December 1959.
Former President Tran Duc Luong was a member of the Party Central Committee for 5 terms (V, VI, VII, VIII, IX); a member of the Politburo for the 8th and 9th terms; and a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo for the 8th term.
He held the position of Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers from February 1987 to September 1992 and served as Deputy Prime Minister from October 1992 to August 1997. He then held the position of President and Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council for the 10th and 11th terms.
He was also a National Assembly delegate of the 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th terms.
During more than 50 years of revolutionary activities, former President Tran Duc Luong made many great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. He was awarded the Gold Star Order, the 65-year Party membership badge, and many other noble orders, medals, awards, and titles by the Party and the State.
The passing of former President Tran Duc Luong is a great loss to the Party, State, people and family.
