Ba Ria - Vung Tau Southern Petrochemical Complex with a total investment of more than 5.1 billion USD will start a trial run in November and enter commercial operation early next year.
At the announcement of the operation plan of the Southern Petrochemical Complex (Long Son Commune, Vung Tau City), Mr. Kulachet Dharachandra, General Director of Long Son Petrochemical Company Limited (investor) said that after two months of trial operation, the plant will be commercially operational in early 2024.

According to him, the company pays special attention to safety and environmental protection. More than 100 million USD has been invested in a closed underground torch system that does not generate smoke, light, heat and reduces noise. Noise-proof wall system, sound reduction system; 550 fire and smoke detectors; 4 fire trucks with nearly 50 firefighters, ambulances; installation of a wastewater treatment system with monitoring, early warning and standards 30% higher than those in Thailand...
The Southern Petrochemical Complex has nearly 1,000 employees, 80% of whom are Vietnamese. Over the past 5 years, the company has spent more than 2 million USD on training to transfer methods and increase the proportion of domestic personnel in the official operation phase.
This project has a total investment of more than 5.1 billion USD, is one of the first integrated petrochemical complexes in Vietnam with a large scale. When put into stable operation, it will produce about 1.4 million tons of polyolefin, which is the raw material for producing many types of plastic products serving daily life.
It is expected that in 2024, the revenue of the Southern Petrochemical Complex will be about 1.5 billion USD and will pay taxes to Ba Ria - Vung Tau province about 150 million USD.
