"Shining Vietnamese Willpower" Expands Opportunities for Disabled Youth to Start a Business

(PLVN) - On the morning of May 14, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Youth with Disabilities (VYD) and TCP Vietnam Company held a press conference to introduce the program "Shining Vietnamese Willpower" in 2025.

“Shining Vietnamese energy” through inspirational videos and podcasts on social media platforms

Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy, Member of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, said that after 10 years of organization, the program "Shining Vietnamese Willpower" has truly spread to Vietnamese youth, becoming a regular, humane, meaningful activity, touching everyone's hearts.

According to Mr. Quy, the journey of more than 10 years of "Shining Vietnamese Willpower" has encouraged, motivated and inspired young people with disabilities across the country to strive to assert themselves with extraordinary willpower, determination and self-respect of brave people.

Following those successes, the program “Shining Vietnamese Willpower” in 2025 was implemented from May to December 2025. The program was organized to find and honor exemplary disabled youth who are strong-willed, overcome adversity and actively contribute to the development of the community; contribute to fostering a good life ideal, promoting the rise of Vietnamese youth.

This year's program will honor 30 delegates who are young people with disabilities and are under 35 years old (for special cases with older ages, the Selection Council will consider and decide).

New this year, the accompanying program “Colors of Willpower” will introduce the examples that have been honored in the program “Shining Vietnamese Willpower” through inspirational videos and podcasts on social networking platforms to spread positive values ​​and reach out to the community to share about the lives and journeys of overcoming the fate of outstanding disabled youth.

The contest "Searching for Talents of Disabled Youth" in the fields of art, music, and active interaction with the community aims to create a diverse playground, confidently express oneself, and promote the message of ability, determination to overcome challenges, and the important presence of disabled youth in the community.

In particular, this year, the Organizing Committee expanded the scope of support with the companion program "Youth with Disabilities Starting a Business in the Digital Age", taking place from April to December 2025. The program targets young people with disabilities who have start-up projects, wish to receive support in terms of capital, technology, management skills or need to expand their existing production and business models. At the same time, the program also reserves a separate space for young people with disabilities who have sales skills and exchange goods via digital platforms.

Depending on the nature and scale of each project, the Organizing Committee will choose to support in the appropriate form: from cash, production tools, to technical advice, communication, and output connections for products. In parallel, free training courses on sales skills and digital business will be organized to improve the capacity of disabled youth, helping them to be more confident in integrating into the community.

Accompanying and supporting social enterprises to become owners and connect disabled youth

In addition to direct support resources, the Vietnam Youth Union has directed the establishment of a social enterprise chaired by Ms. Nguyen Thi Van - an individual who was honored in previous years. After being honored, Ms. Van continued to work actively and is currently a bridge between young businesses in localities and business models implemented by disabled youth.

The Vietnam Youth Union and the Vietnam Disabled Youth Association have also identified supporting economic development for people with disabilities as one of their key tasks. In addition to supporting access to education, health care and healthcare, the Association is focusing on promoting mechanisms for disabled youth to access capital, establish production facilities and take charge of their own jobs.

Regarding Resolution 68-NQ/TW on private economic development, Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy said: Currently, the Vietnam Youth Union is developing an action program and activities related to private economic development. According to the plan, programs to support business establishment and development of individual business models for disabled youth will continue to be expanded in the coming time.

Sharing at the program, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hien Huy, General Director of TCP Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared: With the program "Shining Vietnamese Willpower", we hope to work with the Vietnam Youth Union to spread a positive message about resilience, determination and unlimited faith. The young people with disabilities who were honored are not only symbols of the will to overcome difficulties, but also inspirational examples for the whole society. "TCP is committed to continuing to accompany for a long time to contribute to building a fair, humane and sustainable development environment for everyone," Mr. Huy emphasized.

Nominations will be accepted from April 24, 2025 to July 1, 2025. The award ceremony will be held on August 19-20, 2025 in Hanoi.
