On March 21, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Chief of Office of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - said that the province is carrying out procedures to receive 5 villas in Bao Dai Palace relic returned by Khanh Ha Investment Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as Khanh Ha Company).
"The Department of Natural Resources and Environment is consulting on procedures to separate the 5 villas in the relic from the land use rights granted to the enterprise, at that time the province will take over" - Chief of Office of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee informed.

Bao Dai Palace is located on Canh Long Mountain, built by the French about 100 years ago (1923) with the original architecture of 5 villas, the purpose of which was to serve as a residence for foreign engineers and staff of the Institute of Marine Research (now Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography ).
This relic site has a very favorable location, only about 6km from the center of Nha Trang city and located on Canh Long mountain jutting out into Nha Trang Bay.

From Canh Long Mountain, you can see the whole beauty of Nha Trang Bay and this famous coastal city in the Central region.
From around 1940 to 1945, King Bao Dai and Queen Nam Phuong and their family often came to this relic site for relaxation and entertainment, hence the name Bao Dai Palace.

Because of its rare beauty, this relic used to welcome thousands of tourists every year.
However, in 2013, the Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to adjust the planning at the Bao Dai Palace relic site. At the same time, more than 13 hectares of land (including 5 ancient villas, Bao Dai Palace relic land and Canh Long mountain and sea surface) were assigned to Khanh Ha Company to carry out the Bao Dai resort Nha Trang business project.

The project aims to build a villa complex and a 5-star hotel, including resort villas for long-term rental or sale. The project has a total investment of nearly 480 billion VND.
For 5 villas, the investor also renovated to synchronize the form and general architecture of the tourist area. The implementation time is 3 years, from the time of construction permit issuance (2014).

The plan to build a resort on Bao Dai's floor has received mixed opinions from Nha Trang residents, because of concerns that the project will negatively impact the relic.
However, the project is still being implemented. However, to date, the works in this project are almost unfinished, some works are only built in the rough and then abandoned, causing waste of resources.

The relic is still fenced off, not allowing tourists to visit Bao Dai palace.

According to a representative of Khanh Ha Company, construction at this project stopped about 6 years ago to adjust the planning.
Recently, Khanh Hoa province proposed to return 5 villas in the relic site to the government for management. This request was approved by the business .

Along with the return of the villa, the investor of Bao Dai resort Nha Trang project hopes that the province will consider and soon approve the plan to adjust the project construction planning for the enterprise.

In addition, a representative of Khanh Ha Company also said that they had expressed their desire to rent 5 villas on the Bao Dai floor to synchronize with the resort.
"The company is working with the Department of Culture to find a common voice in renting these 5 villas" - said a representative of Khanh Ha Company.
