According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, by November 16, localities in the province had planted 35,321 hectares of winter crops out of the planned 38,500 hectares. Of which, corn area reached 5,700 hectares, melon and squash nearly 5,000 hectares, potatoes 3,700 hectares, the rest were vegetables of all kinds. Warm-loving winter crops have been harvested on 3,560 hectares, mainly vegetables of all kinds.

Farmers in Kien Xuong district take care of winter potatoes.

This year's winter crop production in localities has been quite favorable, with clear and warm weather at the beginning of the season creating favorable conditions for land preparation, planting, as well as plant growth and development. Localities have paid attention to organizing production associated with product consumption and processing in many forms: linking with businesses, fresh processing, drying... building product brands, supporting the establishment of product consumption cooperatives, product storage warehouses... at the same time, there are support mechanisms suitable to production practices to develop crops with high value and local advantages.

To ensure the plan for acreage and production value of the winter crop, in addition to focusing on measures to care for and prevent pests and diseases for crops, the agricultural sector recommends that localities take advantage of all land funds to continue to spread out the planting of cold-loving vegetables to reduce the pressure of concentrated harvesting.
