Honoring the 100-year history of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh said that the press festival is not only a great festival for the press nationwide but also an opportunity for journalists to review the glorious and proud tradition; to honor the achievements, contributions and silent sacrifices of journalists throughout a century, from the first newspaper pages serving the revolution to modern multimedia press products contributing to the construction and development of the country today.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized: “The theme of the 2025 National Press Festival “Loyal, Creative, Courageous, Innovative Vietnamese Press for the Cause of Building and Protecting the Fatherland” is the guiding principle for journalists to continue their noble mission in the period when the country is stepping into a new era. The press must be the pioneer in spreading good values, promoting patriotism and national unity, contributing to creating a combined strength for our country to increasingly develop and prosper and firmly protect independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity”.

Speaking at the press conference, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia praised the Vietnam Journalists Association, all levels of the association, press agencies and units for organizing this year's press conference on an increasingly large scale, with increasingly high quality, modern and attractive forms, fully demonstrating the identity of Vietnamese journalism from tradition to modernity.

According to Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the rapid development of technology is dramatically changing all areas of life, posing opportunities and challenges for Vietnam's revolutionary press. Our Party and State are resolutely implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus of agencies, units, and localities, including the press system.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that each press agency and each journalist must always consciously study and improve their professional knowledge; maintain and promote political will, be determined to innovate more strongly; increase the application of technology, especially digital transformation and artificial intelligence to change the process of production, distribution and access to press information. The press must take innovation as a driving force, take technology as a tool to elevate the level of Vietnamese journalism; deepen the role of social criticism, protect the Party's ideological foundation, promote solidarity, create consensus, strongly arouse patriotism, national pride, inspire and aspire to contribute, contributing to bringing the country firmly into a new era, an era of wealth, civilization, prosperity and national development.

Many activities fully demonstrate the identity of Vietnamese journalism
The 2025 National Press Festival was organized on the largest scale ever, attracting more than 124 press agencies and associations with nearly 130 press booths. Many press agencies demonstrated multi-platform press products, applying new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), 3D modeling, holofan, virtual reality, etc.

Taking place from June 19-21, the 2025 National Press Festival brings to the public and journalists - members many professional events, exhibitions, modern-scale displays, along with rich and attractive cultural and artistic programs. The Press Festival dedicates a central space to display the theme "100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press: Achievements and trends in press development in the new era"; collects, selects, and digitizes more than 500 images, artifacts, and valuable documents reflecting the 100-year journey of formation and development of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.

Within the framework of this year's press conference, the 2nd National Press Forum 2025 continues to be held. The forum has 12 sessions, gathering nearly 1,000 delegates including leaders of press agencies, journalists, media experts and leading speakers to discuss hot topics of interest to the press. This is an important highlight, expected to open up creative space, to elevate the strategy for Vietnamese revolutionary press on the journey to rise up with the nation, worthy of professional, humane and modern journalism.

The 2025 National Press Festival is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on event days for the public to visit and participate in activities.
The Vietnamese revolutionary press has gone through a glorious century. But glory is only truly valuable when it is followed by the aspiration to reach further. Today's opening ceremony is to remember, to show gratitude and also for us to look forward together. I hope that each journalist and each press agency will work together to create the things to come: Innovation in thinking, innovation in expression and deeper social role. The public comes to the National Press Festival today to affirm their belief and entrust their expectations to the team of steadfast writers as well as revolutionary press products that will truly shine, "leading the way" in the era of national development.
