Honoring individuals and units with outstanding scientific and technological products in 2024

NDO - 10 scientists, organizations, and businesses with outstanding science and technology products in 2024 were honored at the Vietnam Science and Technology Festival 2025 organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology on the afternoon of May 16.

At the event, the Organizing Committee honored a number of outstanding scientific and technological products and works in 2024. These are all achievements with high practical application value, contributing to solving urgent problems of the country, while improving the quality of life for the people.

The award ceremony not only recognizes and honors the outstanding contributions of scientists, businesses, research institutes and universities, but also strongly spreads the spirit of innovation and creativity, arouses the motivation to contribute in the community, towards the sustainable development of Vietnam.

Accordingly, the outstanding collectives and individuals honored include:

Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company (Bidiphar), pioneering in the production of cancer drugs in Vietnam, has helped to significantly reduce treatment costs, with revenue of VND 1,748 billion.

VNPT Technology develops the world's first XGS-PON Wi-Fi 7 device, expanding its telecommunications market share.

MedCAT: AI application digitizes medical data, increases insurance processing efficiency, wins many international awards.

Growmax produces high-tech shrimp feed, builds a shrimp industry value chain, with revenue of 5,600 billion VND; the author group of the project: "Developing hanging water storage technology, solving water shortage in highland areas" won the Tran Dai Nghia award.

Veritas Vietnam produces pallets from polymerized coconut shells, reducing carbon emissions, creating jobs for farmers, top 3 scientific initiatives 2025.

MISA won the Sao Khue award for excellent information technology products. The Institute of Propellants and Explosives produced new propellants for military ammunition and won the award for scientific and technological innovation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga with her initiative to forecast storms and rains, serving the development of renewable energy.

Associate Professor Nguyen Minh Tan, with his scientific contributions to enhancing Vietnamese agricultural products, received the 2024 Kovalevskaia Prize.

Nafosted Foundation commits to accompany scientists

At the event, the Ministry of Science and Technology officially announced the new Action Program and Mission of the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED).

Representatives of research groups, institutes, and science and technology enterprises have made commitments to implement research ideas/manufacture of scientific and technological products. These are pioneering commitments, demonstrating the determination to bring Vietnamese science and technology to new heights.

Within the framework of the Program, the Award Ceremony of the “Science Initiative 2025” competition took place. This event is part of the series of activities "Welcoming Vietnam Science and Technology Day May 18" organized by VnExpress newspaper.

The contest is organized to create a playground for those who love science and technology, attracting groups of professional and non-professional authors, businesses, to participate in creating solutions and products with valuable applications in life, at the same time connecting scientists with investors, to develop and bring research to the market.

This year, the contest is organized under the theme of Green Initiatives to honor initiatives that contribute to promoting sustainable socio-economic development. At the same time, it responds to the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
