On the afternoon of September 1, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received a delegation of leaders and representatives of political parties from many countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa who came to Vietnam to attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
Expressing their honor and joy to be present at the historic celebration, the leaders and representatives of political parties warmly congratulated the Party, State and people of Vietnam, and thanked the invitation and the solemn, sincere and thoughtful reception of the Communist Party of Vietnam , General Secretary To Lam personally and the Vietnamese people.
Speaking on behalf of the political parties, the heads of the delegations from Belarus, Japan, Russia, the Dominican Republic, and Algeria highlighted the stature and historical significance of Vietnam's struggle for national liberation and reunification and expressed admiration for the important and comprehensive achievements that Vietnam has made over the past 80 years, as well as Vietnam's increasingly high position in the international arena.
Representatives of political parties emphasized that Vietnam has become a model of peace, development, social progress and international solidarity; strongly supported the efforts of the Party, State and people of Vietnam in national development; expressed deep confidence in the correct guidelines and leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and General Secretary To Lam, the Vietnamese people will certainly successfully achieve the set goals in the new era of the nation.
Appreciating Vietnam's foreign policy, representatives of political parties also emphasized the desire to further strengthen the tradition of friendship and multifaceted cooperation between parties and the Communist Party of Vietnam as well as between states and peoples with the State and people of Vietnam.
Warmly welcoming the international guests, General Secretary To Lam expressed his emotion and appreciation for the warm feelings and good wishes that international political parties and friends have given to President Ho Chi Minh, the Party, State and people of Vietnam; affirming that this is a vivid and profound testament to the comradely and brotherly affection, solidarity, loyal attachment, pure international sentiment and valuable support that international political parties, states, governments and friends have given to Vietnam.
Highlighting the event of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that this was a great milestone in Vietnam's history, ending nearly a century of colonial rule and opening an era of national independence and socialism for the Vietnamese people.
The General Secretary emphasized that for every Vietnamese person, the National Day on September 2nd every year has become a great holiday and festival, of great significance in political and spiritual life and expressing the aspiration for peace, independence and freedom of the entire nation.
The General Secretary affirmed that, promoting the nation's patriotic tradition, through 80 years full of challenges and glory, the entire Vietnamese people have always been united, united as one, with a spirit of pure international solidarity, steadfastly overcoming all difficulties, leading the Vietnamese revolution to many important victories, liberating the nation, unifying the country, successfully implementing the Doi Moi process, and steadily moving towards socialism. From a country heavily devastated by war, poor and backward, Vietnam has successfully built a dynamic economy, increasingly deeply integrated, achieving many achievements in all fields; people's lives have been constantly improved.
The Party, State and people of Vietnam are aiming to realize the strategic development goals until 2030 and 2045, fully realizing President Ho Chi Minh's wish "To build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam and make a worthy contribution to the world revolutionary cause."
In the context of the rapidly changing world situation, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam is steadfast in its socialist goals and the path of Renovation; consistently implementing a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralizing and diversifying foreign relations, being a friend, a reliable partner and an active and responsible member of the international community. The Party, State and people of Vietnam always wish to expand and deepen relations between political parties, enhance understanding, friendship and cooperation between the Vietnamese people and people of other countries in the world.
The meeting took place in a solemn atmosphere, full of comradeship and brotherhood. Along with this meaningful meeting, within the framework of the Anniversary Ceremony, leaders and representatives of political parties will also have many activities to meet with Party and State leaders and visit cultural and historical establishments of Vietnam.
