On the morning of October 2, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission and President Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces attended the closing session of the 12th Party Congress of the Army, term 2025-2030.
Attending the third working day of the Congress were comrades: General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense ; General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA); Pham Gia Tuc, Party Central Committee member, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Ngo Van Tuan, Party Central Committee member, State Auditor General; General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Party Central Committee member, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Party Central Committee member, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Party Central Committee member, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense.
On the morning of October 2, the last working day, the congress continued to discuss; then listened to the representative of the Presidium conclude the discussion content, contributing opinions to the draft documents of the Central Committee to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.
Along with that, the Party delegation of the Army attending the 14th National Congress of the Party made its debut at the congress.
After passing the congress resolution and completing the contents, according to the plan and program of the congress, General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, delivered the closing speech of the congress.
The Military Party Committee has 63 delegates attending the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Previously, on October 1, the congress discussed and contributed to the Political Report of the Central Military Commission for the 2020-2025 term and carried out a number of other important contents as planned.
During the discussion session on the Political Report of the Central Military Commission for the 2020-2025 term, many dedicated and responsible opinions focused on clarifying the results, lessons learned and proposing solutions to improve the quality of military building, strengthen national defense, and firmly protect the Fatherland.
On behalf of the presidium, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, said the Political Report comprehensively reflects the achievements and outstanding results of the 2020-2025 term, clearly points out limitations and causes, and draws valuable lessons.
At the same time, thoroughly grasp the new viewpoints and policies in the draft documents of the 14th Party Congress and the military's practices, as a basis for determining 9 main goals, 17 key tasks and 16 contents of the Action Program for the next term.
On the same day, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, on behalf of the Presidium, directed the nomination, candidacy, and voting to approve the list of delegates to the Military Party Delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of Delegates, and the list of the Ballot Counting Committee.
The Congress elected 48 delegates (including 45 official delegates and 3 alternate delegates). Along with 15 ex-officio delegates, the Party Committee of the Army has 63 delegates attending the 14th National Congress of the Party.
