WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo Iweala talks to female entrepreneurs at Sao Thai Duong headquarters.
Honored to be chosen as the host for this important dialogue event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Lien - Co-founder, Deputy General Director of Sao Thai Duong, Vice President of WeLead expressed her desire to convey to the head of the WTO the spirit of Vietnamese female entrepreneurs, the way Vietnamese female entrepreneurs face challenges and gradually overcome them.
Sao Thai Duong applies the sustainable and innovative business strategy of a science and technology enterprise. Especially oriented towards the inclusive economic model - female entrepreneurs create positive impacts on social development.
"Coming from the countryside, we understand what it means to "work hard" and "sell your face to the ground and your back to the sky" of farmers. We are attached to farmers because they are partners supplying medicinal herbs to businesses. Sao Thai Duong buys products from farmers at high prices but is responsible for producing products at affordable prices so that they can use the right products that they produce themselves. Medicinal products produced by Sao Thai Duong are affordable to serve the people. There are products that cost only 10,000 - 20,000 VND", said Ms. Huong Lien.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Lien - Deputy General Director of Sao Thai Duong shared about inclusive business strategy and sustainable development.
Deputy General Director of Sao Thai Duong said he was very pleased to receive the attention and preferential treatment of the United Nations, WTO and other international organizations in supporting Vietnamese enterprises owned by women, or enterprises that have a strong impact on community development.
"However, our biggest difficulty is bringing our products to more international markets. Accessing developed countries to sell at higher prices is a huge challenge. We hope that the WTO and Vietnamese state management agencies will pay more attention and support women-owned businesses through trade promotion programs, so that businesses can export more and integrate deeper into the global supply chain," said Ms. Huong Lien.
Prior to the dialogue with female entrepreneurs, WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo Iweala visited and talked with the leaders of Sao Thai Duong Joint Stock Company.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Lien thanked the WTO Director General for taking the time to visit, giving warm feelings to Thai Duong as well as sharing useful information with female entrepreneurs.
