On the afternoon of May 13, the Green Development Support Center (GreenHub) coordinated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the International Organization for Conservation of Nature in Vietnam, Tuy Hoa City People's Committee and Phu Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company to summarize the activities of classifying and composting organic waste of the Waste Classification model in Ward 7 (Tuy Hoa City).
The Waste Classification Model in Ward 7 has been implemented since 2022. This model will classify waste and collect organic waste separately at the Ward 7 market and 150 households in Truong Chinh neighborhood (Ward 7). To compost organic waste into fertilizer, Phu Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company has built a pilot compost house from organic waste at Tho Vuc landfill. After the waste is sorted at the source, Phu Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company organizes the collection and transportation to the compost house area to compost into organic fertilizer. To date, the amount of organic waste collected to the compost house is about 35 tons and has been composted into standard compost, with the amount of fertilizer collected estimated at more than 1 ton.
