For his part, the US President said he and his counterpart Putin discussed starting negotiations to immediately end the conflict in Ukraine.
On the social network Truth Social, Mr. Trump wrote: "I just had a very productive and lengthy phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, the strength of the US dollar, and many other topics. We also agreed to send our teams to begin negotiations immediately."
