Venezuelan President calls for building a new multipolar, multicenter world

At the event held on March 15, Mr. Nicolás Maduro affirmed that it is time to build links for a new, multipolar and multi-centered world , for the independence and integration of peoples.

The Venezuelan President denounced attempts to impose a unipolar hegemonic model, ignoring the diversity of human civilizations, the spiritual, cultural and political strength of peoples; at the same time, he affirmed that this intention cannot be realized in the 21st century, because the era of empires is over, the era of nations has arrived.

President Maduro, who is also President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), stressed that the time has come for history and peoples to build alternative models to barbaric capitalism, neoliberalism, hegemony and economic blackmail, models that have always sought to impose domination on peoples through coercion and invasion.

The Venezuelan leader also said that solidarity, political capacity, leadership, coordination, effort and perseverance on the path of building a proper civilization will be the premise for a world where the cultural diversity of peoples shines.

According to Mr. Maduro, Venezuela has been the victim in recent years of constant aggression and invasion with the application of more than 900 unilateral coercive measures and criminal sanctions against the country and its people.

Venezuela has moved from a period of fierce, sometimes painful resistance to a period of recovery and growth, and is moving towards a higher stage of development for the socio-economic prosperity of its people, he said.
