iPhone XS becomes a 'classic' product |
Products are considered “vintage” when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 5 years ago but less than 7 years ago. Apple Stores and authorized service providers will continue to provide repair services for “vintage” products for up to 2 years, depending on parts availability.
Apple stopped selling the iPhone XS in 2019, but retailers continued to sell it for several years. That's why the iPhone XS only became "vintage" after 7 years on the market.
Apple introduced the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR in 2018. This was the first year the company announced three iPhone models at the same time. The iPhone XS Max was the company's first larger iPhone.
However, the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR duo launched by Apple at the same time were already on the "classic" list.
The last operating system update for the iPhone XS was iOS 18, and it won't be upgraded to iOS 26 this year. Apple can still release software updates if necessary.
In two years, the iPhone XS will officially become an “obsolete” product and will no longer be repaired by Apple.
