Sophia Phuong Anh has just finished three months of "studying abroad" in the US in the UPA Asia Trailblazers Program. This is the most prestigious and professional Pickleball training program in the US, jointly implemented by PPA (Professional Pickleball Association) and MLP Asia.

PPA is the world's leading professional organization in the development and organization of major Pickleball tournaments, particularly in the United States.

According to Sophia Phuong Anh's representative, the 17-year-old girl has signed a contract with the United Pickleball Association (UPA), just like Quang Duong before.

It was no coincidence that Sophia was chosen to become Vietnam's "new Pickleball star". UPA gave Sophia Phuong Anh a chance when they saw her potential at such a young age.

Notable among these are her impressive achievements in both domestic and international competitions. Sophia Phuong Anh won the Open Women's Singles Championship and the U16 Women's Singles Championship, 3rd place in the Open Women's Doubles and 3rd place in the Open Mixed Doubles at the PPA Tour Australia.

On the international arena, Sophia also excelled in winning the women's singles 4.5 and women's doubles 4.5 at the World Pickleball Championship (WPC) held in Hong Kong, and also won at the WPC Bali - Indonesia.

During her three months of “studying abroad” in the US, Sophia Phuong Anh trained at world-class facilities. She was directly instructed by top coaches and professional American athletes. She also participated in prestigious tournaments such as the PPA Tour and MLP - two of the most prestigious Pickleball events in the world today.

Here, Phuong Anh also participated in a number of international tournaments organized by PPA and MLP, making a strong impression with outstanding achievements in the international arena.

After completing three months of studying abroad in the US, Sophia Phuong Anh has grown significantly. Specifically, she won two gold medals at the Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025 in women's singles and women's doubles.

With UPA’s interest, Sophia Phuong Anh became the center of attention at the Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025, taking place in Tam Ky. This is the first domestic tournament that Sophia participated in after returning from a special training trip in the US, and after participating in the PPA Malaysia international arena in early July.

In the final of the U18 women's singles, Sophia Phuong Anh defeated Kei Wasaki - a professional athlete with 4,900 DUPR points from Japan - to win the championship.

Also in this tournament, but in the U18 women's doubles event, Sophia paired with Jolie Lam to win against Kei Wasaki and Yuna - the "steel" duo of Japan to win the double championship.

Most recently, at the HCMC D-JOY Junior Pickleball Tour 2025 tournament, Sophia made a strong impression when she combined with young athlete Rex Thais to excellently win the U18 mixed doubles championship against opponents Hoai Anh and Jolie Lam.

Sophia Phuong Anh’s consecutive resounding achievements are proof of her remarkable growth after her training journey in the US. This is also a promising opening milestone for the series of international tournaments she will participate in in the near future.
