TPO - The race for the longest driving range of electric cars is heating up thanks to technological advancements from manufacturers. Below are 10 high-end electric car models with the longest driving range in the world today, ranked by Top Gear magazine.

10. Volkswagen ID.7 (702 km)

Volkswagen's first all-electric sedan has overcome some of the shortcomings of the previous ID model and may go further than any of its "siblings".

The car's impressive range is partly due to its aerodynamic coupe design, which reduces the drag coefficient to just 0.23Cd. It comes in two variants: the Pro version with a 77 kWh battery offering a range of 613 km, and the Pro S version with an 86 kWh battery providing a range of 702 km on a single charge.

9. Tesla Model 3 Long Range (702 km)

The Model 3 consistently ranks among the best-selling electric vehicles in the US, UK, and Europe. The rear-wheel-drive Long Range version is equipped with a 62.5 kWh LFP battery supplied by CATL. An estimated range of up to 702 km is provided on a single charge.

8. Polestar 3 Long Range (705 km)

The Polestar 3 comes in three configurations, all equipped with a large 111 kWh battery. The basic single-motor version delivers 295 horsepower and a range of 705 km on a single charge. The mid-range twin-motor version offers 483 horsepower and 631 km, while the sporty Performance Pack boasts 510 horsepower but with a reduced range of 558 km.

7. Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ 400 4Matic (713 km)

The newly launched all-electric Mercedes GLC is available in only one version: the 400 4Matic. It boasts 483 horsepower and a 94 kWh battery providing a range of 713 km on a full charge.

Notably, the GLC EQ features 330kW DC fast charging, allowing for an additional 300 km range after just 10 minutes of charging. Mercedes also states that with regenerative braking capabilities of up to 300kW, 99% of deceleration will help recover energy.

6. Audi A6 e-tron Sportback Performance (745 km)

With its Sportback body style and optional rearview mirror cameras, the Audi A6 e-tron achieves an incredible drag coefficient of just 0.21Cd. The Performance version, using a 94.9 kWh battery and a rear-wheel-drive motor, achieves a range of 745 km on a single charge. The Avant (wagon) version, while not as aerodynamically optimized, still manages 703 km on a full charge.

5. DS No 8 Long Range (750 km)

According to Top Gear , the DS No. 8 is a suitable choice for those who want a unique and distinctive electric car. With its aerodynamically optimized fastback design and low drag coefficient of 0.24Cd, the front-wheel-drive Long Range version can achieve a range of 750 km on a single charge with its 97.2 kWh battery.

4. Mercedes-Benz CLA 250+ (779 km)

Mercedes has previously stated that its new CLA coupe is the "most efficient, intuitive, and intelligent" electric car the company has ever produced.

In fact, the RWD 250+ version of the car boasts a range of up to 779 km on a single charge with its relatively small 85 kWh battery pack compared to current standards. This is achieved in part thanks to a drag coefficient of 0.21Cd, an improved heat pump system, and intelligent energy regeneration capabilities. The car also utilizes 800V technology supporting 350kW fast charging, allowing it to travel an additional 322 km after just 10 minutes of charging.

3. BMW iX3 50 xDrive (805 km)

In the UK market, BMW's newly launched iX3 is the all-electric vehicle with the longest range currently on sale.

With its large 108.7 kWh battery pack, the new BMW iX3 is claimed to have a driving range of 805 km on a full charge. Notably, it features 400 kW fast charging technology, allowing for an additional 370 km of range after just 10 minutes of charging, while charging from 10% to 80% takes 21 minutes.

2. Mercedes EQS 450+ AMG Line (822 km)

Starting in 2024, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class electric vehicle has been upgraded with a larger battery, increasing from 108 kWh to 118 kWh. This improves the vehicle's range from 774 km to 822 km per charge, making it the most energy-efficient luxury electric vehicle currently available.

1. Lucid Air Grand Touring (824 km)

The king of driving range in the current electric car world comes from Lucid with its Air sedan. The car boasts a claimed range of 824 km per charge in its top-of-the-line configuration, with a 118 kWh battery.

In real-world driving conditions, the Lucid Air Grand Touring has also consistently broken distance records, increasing from 1,045 km to 1,205 km when traveling from Switzerland to Germany.

Additionally, the Grand Touring version is highly regarded for its performance, featuring two electric motors delivering 1,050 horsepower. The top-of-the-line Sapphire uses three motors, boosting power to 1,234 horsepower, accelerating from 0-96 km/h in under 2 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 330 km/h.
