According to the annual survey and evaluation for ranking, this week, Booking.com announced the 10 destinations in Vietnam with the largest number of sustainable accommodations according to the number of Sustainable Tourism Badges.

Keeping up with the global green tourism trend as well as meeting the growing needs of domestic and international tourists, accommodation establishments across Vietnam are increasingly making efforts towards more sustainable tourism.
A survey by Booking.com shows that there are more than 5,000 accommodation establishments in Vietnam out of a total of more than 550,000 accommodation establishments in the world that are currently recognized for their sustainable operations and have received the Sustainable Tourism Badge on the Booking.com platform.
More than 5,000 accommodation establishments spread across the country, of which the 10 destinations in Vietnam with the highest number of sustainable accommodations according to the number of Sustainable Tourism Badges include:
1. Ho Chi Minh City
2. Hanoi
3. Da Nang
4. Vung Tau
5. Dalat
6. Nha Trang
7. Hoi An
8. Quy Nhon
9. Phu Quoc
10. Ha Long
These sustainable accommodations are awarded the Sustainability Badge at levels 1-3, which is displayed on the Booking.com platform when travelers visit and search for accommodations.
The most commonly practiced sustainable practices by accommodations in Vietnam include: Providing reusable or multi-use towels, allowing the option to not have rooms cleaned every day, and water-efficient bathrooms.
Notably, the application of sustainable activities is not only in high-end resorts and large hotels but also in small hotels, homestays, etc. throughout Vietnam, whether in bustling cities, hidden in nature or along the coast, in high mountainous areas.

Starting in 2021, to earn the Booking.com Sustainable Tourism Badge, accommodations will need to adopt specific sustainability practices. These changes are coming together to create a sustainable revolution for the tourism industry. The top 10 sustainability practices most adopted by accommodations across Vietnam include: Globally, other top sustainability practices adopted include eliminating plastic straws, cups, cutlery and stirrers, as well as installing double-glazed windows.
