The foreign tourists began their “wild tour” at 7:40 p.m. They were given personal flashlights and instructed on the rules by staff before boarding the zoo tram and heading towards the darkened zoo. The vehicle passed a herd of Malayan tapirs looking for food after a day of lying still in the shade or bathing in the water.
The visit lasts until 9:30 p.m. This is when the animals have finished cleaning, had dinner, and are ready to rest. "Visitors participating in Night Safari will experience the most adorable and emotional moments of each individual," said Mr. Bui Phi Hoang, Head of Animal Care at Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc.

Flamingo Lake is the first stop. During the day, these birds attract visitors with their brilliant plumage. At night, under flashlights, visitors observe the moment when the flock stands on one leg, leaning against each other, heads tilted back, nestling in their feathers, preparing to sleep.
Unlike flamingos, primates are harder to find because they tend to take shelter in tall treetops. Using a flashlight to scan the forest canopy, visitors must pay close attention to see individual gibbons sleeping in a perched position.

The car continued to move deeper into the forest. The surrounding space was filled with the sounds of crickets, geckos... and all kinds of scents from wild flowers and grasses. The staff then explained how species identify their mates or mark their territory with scent.

The Night Safari journey stops in front of the iron gate separating the semi-wild area. This area is for carnivores such as lions, belgan tigers or individual sun bears, rhinos... Visitors sit on the zoo tram to observe nocturnal habits such as hunting, finding a place to sleep...

Species such as the belgan tiger, African lion… become more active at night with the instinct of predators, possessing eyesight 6 times sharper than humans. The fence separating tourists and animals becomes difficult to observe in the dark, making the experience of observing predators thrilling.

Visitors have the opportunity to interact with giraffes. These animals are gentle and friendly. Visitors can place food in their hands to feed the giraffes. "Although they are quite gentle, you should not hurt or startle the giraffes because just a kick or a shake of the head from the giraffe can be very dangerous for people nearby," zoo staff reminded.

Throughout the journey to explore the nocturnal life of wild animals, visitors are often shared by Vinpearl Safari staff with natural habits associated with each actual event, or "anecdotes" of each individual.
Thanh Vy, a tourist from Hanoi, said she had joined the night tour twice but still felt surprised and excited. Each time she visited, she discovered new aspects of wildlife and felt closer to nature.

In addition to the night tour, the Junior Zoo Keeper class is an activity that is loved by many children when coming to Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc. There are two Junior Zoo Keeper classes every day, from 10:30 am to 12 pm and from 2:30 pm to 4 pm. The program is for children aged 5-12 years old, interacting with young animals, learning how to take care of animals and doing simple zoo staff tasks such as preparing vegetables and cleaning cages.

Children are guided to harvest vegetables at Kidfarm garden, then prepare and feed the animals by hand. Upon completion of the course, children are awarded certificates and enrolled in the "Vinpearl Safari Gold List" for their participation in supporting and caring for wild animals.
Ms. Thao Ly, a tourist from Kien Giang , said this is a favorite activity of her two children. They have participated 4 times but still hope their parents will continue to take them next year.
