Can Tho City: Striving to complete 16,900 social housing units

On August 28, the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee held a conference to evaluate the work results of August and deploy tasks for September 2025.

Comrade Do Thanh Binh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Comrade Dong Van Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City, co-chaired the conference.

According to the assessment of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, in August 2025, the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws were effectively implemented. Party organizations under the City Party Committee completed the Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The Document Subcommittee and the Editorial Team of the Document Subcommittee continued to advise on completing the draft documents of the City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term in line with the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress.

The economy continues to achieve many positive results, contributing to promoting growth, stabilizing people's lives and creating a foundation for sustainable development. Notably, in August, the city attracted 930,000 visitors, accumulating over 8.6 million visitors in 8 months, with a total revenue of 7,279 billion VND, reaching 80.95% of the plan. Total state budget revenue was 16,106 billion VND, reaching 65.07% of the estimate assigned by the Central Government and 60.11% of the estimate assigned by the City People's Council...

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee highly agreed with the content reported by the Party Committee of the Can Tho City People's Committee. In particular, it agreed to supplement and complete the set of socio-economic indicators to serve the development of the Resolution of the Can Tho City Party Congress for the term 2025-2030, including 13 indicators on socio-economics and environment. It agreed to add the target of social housing development by 2030 to the draft Document of the Can Tho City Party Congress for the term 2025-2030. Accordingly, by 2030, Can Tho City strives to complete 16,900 social housing units.
