The Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just announced the conclusion of Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc after a working session with Sun Group Corporation in early July 2025 on the proposal to invest in a number of projects in the city.
According to the conclusion announcement, the Chairman of the City People's Committee basically agreed with the approach and ideas proposed to implement the projects of Sun Group Corporation.

Regarding specific projects, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee agreed in principle with the investment proposals of Sun Group Corporation including: Rach Chiec National Sports Complex (Binh Trung Ward); National Historical and Cultural Park (Long Binh Ward); Saigon River road; metro or tramway route along Saigon River;
The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the investor to complete the investment proposals based on comments from relevant departments. The investor coordinated with the Department of Construction to advise the City People's Committee to report and submit to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee for approval of the policy, as a basis for implementing the next steps.
Regarding the investment proposal of Binh Quoi - Thanh Da Urban Area of Sun Group, the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to urgently preside over, urge and coordinate with relevant units to guide Binh Quoi ward to prepare, appraise and approve the adjustment of the 1/2000 scale zoning plan, to be completed in July 2025.
Previously, Sun Group Corporation proposed to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to allow research on the construction of a road along the Saigon River with a scale of 8 to 10 lanes, about 40 km long. At the same time, invest in a metro or tramway line running along the Saigon River through the old Cu Chi district.
Regarding the investment form, Sun Group proposed to invest in the form of BT, with a counterpart mechanism of land fund and investment rights in land plots along the Saigon River in Cu Chi district (old) with a total area of about 4,100 hectares.
In addition, the Group also proposed to invest in a series of urban projects such as: Binh Quoi - Thanh Da Urban Area, Binh Thanh District (426.9 ha); Truong Tho Urban Area, Thu Duc City (144.7 ha); Rach Chiec Sports Area, Thu Duc City (186 ha)...
