Ho Chi Minh City and Hyogo Prefecture promote strategic cooperation towards green and digital development

(HTV) - The City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) coordinated with the Hyogo Provincial Government, Japan, to organize an Economic Forum with the theme "Green and digital transformation trends: For sustainable development goals".

Attending the forum, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha affirmed that the City is steadfast in its sustainable development strategy, not trading the environment for economic growth. After the merger, Ho Chi Minh City has created the premise to become an economic megacity, a logistics center, high-tech industry and marine tourism.

Mr. Ha said that this new development space will open up more opportunities for cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Hyogo Prefecture, especially in pioneering fields such as digital economy, green economy, circular economy and renewable energy.

For its part, Hyogo Prefecture is committed to promoting comprehensive cooperation, focusing on human resource development, advanced technology, and aviation-logistics connectivity.

The forum also shared many major strategies of Ho Chi Minh City such as developing an international financial center, promoting the digital economy and the program “For a green Can Gio”. This event is expected to create new momentum for the economic, scientific – technological and innovation relationship between the two localities.
