Since the evening of March 20, on the forums of parents and students in Ho Chi Minh City, a photo of a student's white shirt covered in blood has been circulating. According to the description, the reason is that the student was beaten by the principal until his head bled. The incident occurred at Tan Phu Trung Primary School (Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City). The poster wrote: "My nephew was beaten by the principal until his head bled while going to school, but the teachers at the school covered it up. If I make a big deal out of it, my nephew won't be able to go to school..."
According to initial information from the authorities, the beating of a student by the principal of Tan Phu Trung Primary School occurred on the morning of March 19. Specifically, the math class of class 2/8 at Tan Phu Trung Primary School was taught by the principal. The reason for beating the student, according to the principal's report to the authorities, was because the student was being naughty in class and did not do his homework.
Information spread from the evening of March 20
When the principal used a song lang (a musical instrument used by musicians to keep the beat) to hit the student on the shoulder, the student dodged and hit his head, causing bleeding. On March 19, the school took the student to the hospital for a health check and the initial diagnosis was that he had a skin injury.
On March 20 and 21, this student was still at home and had not returned to school.
Speaking to a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, an official from the Department of Education and Training of Cu Chi district said that the district People's Committee has directed the Department of Internal Affairs to verify and report the incident to the Standing Committee of the Cu Chi district People's Committee.
