Hue City focuses on 5 key tasks in the last 6 months of the year

(Chinhphu.vn) - On July 17, at the closing session of the 10th session of the 8th Hue City People's Council, the leaders of the Hue City People's Committee outlined 5 key tasks to focus on directing and implementing in the last 6 months of the year to achieve the target of double-digit economic growth.

2025 is a breakthrough year to strive to complete the goals and targets of the Resolution at the 16th City Party Congress and is the first year to carry out the tasks of a centrally-run city.

In the first 6 months of the year, despite many difficulties, the socio-economic situation of Hue City continued to change positively, with an estimated GRDP growth rate of 9.39%; the processing and manufacturing industry had a breakthrough development, the tourism sector continued to be a bright spot, with the number of visitors and tourism revenue increasing sharply compared to the same period; prioritizing resources to accelerate the progress of key investment projects, having a spillover effect to create growth momentum.

Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, said that with the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth in 2025, creating a foundation for the 2025-2030 period, the City People's Committee has identified 5 key task groups to focus on directing and implementing in the last 6 months of the year.

Specifically, focusing on promoting administrative reform, streamlining processes, simplifying administrative procedures, and combining comprehensive digital transformation in public service activities. The city will continue to improve the investment environment, enhance the competitiveness index (PCI), ensure the two-level government model operates effectively and flexibly, remove institutional bottlenecks, and mobilize social resources well.

Synchronously deploy strategic pillars including: Resolution 57 on science - technology, innovation and digital transformation; Resolution 59 on international integration; Resolution 66 on perfecting the legal system; Resolution 68 on developing the private economy. The implementation process must ensure compliance with the Prime Minister's "6 clear" principles: "Clear people, clear work, clear responsibility, clear products, clear time and clear authority".

Promote green growth, transform the development model from breadth to depth, reduce dependence on resources and cheap labor. The city prioritizes the development of deep processing industries, information technology, software industry, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, digital economy, sharing economy, circular economy and knowledge economy. Services - tourism continue to be the spearhead industry; healthcare and high-quality education are the core; high-tech industry is the breakthrough and marine economy is the essential foundation.

Accelerate public investment disbursement, striving to complete 100% of the capital plan by 2025. Prioritize accelerating the progress of key projects, especially infrastructure connection projects, developing cultural, medical, educational, scientific and technological centers. At the same time, invest heavily in digital infrastructure and telecommunications to build a foundation for the development of the digital economy and digital society.

Along with that, promote propaganda and promote the image of Hue culture, people and tourism, associated with successfully organizing events within the framework of National Tourism Year 2025. The city also continues to implement social security policies well, completing the elimination of all temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

In the first 6 months of the year, the number of tourists to Hue increased sharply, estimated at more than 3.3 million arrivals, an increase of 71% over the same period.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hue City People's Council Le Truong Luu emphasized that the tasks for the last 6 months of the year are very heavy, requiring the entire political system to continue to act more decisively and effectively.

It is necessary to focus on reviewing and urging the progress of implementing projects and plans in 2025, ensuring progress and quality; building reasonable growth scenarios to achieve economic growth targets of over 10%, and disbursing 100% of the public investment capital plan.

Urgently concretize important resolutions of the Central Committee such as Resolutions 57, 59, 66, 68 with mechanisms and policies suitable to the reality of Hue City. Strengthen inspection and supervision of the activities of commune and ward authorities; remove obstacles in remote areas; ensure stable operation of information technology infrastructure in the 2-level government model.

Proactively respond to natural disasters, extreme weather, and epidemics; pay special attention to strengthening the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control in newly established administrative units. Effectively implement social security policies, accelerate the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, and ensure that no new temporary houses are built; deploy the construction of social housing, prepare well for the new school year, and effectively implement the policy of exempting tuition fees.

Maintain political security, social order and safety; ensure safety for major events such as Party Congresses at all levels, Hue Festival 2025; strengthen market inspection and control, strictly handle counterfeit, fake and poor quality goods.
