HCMC: Floor scores of many universities have decreased sharply, some places have dropped 4 points

Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Hoa Sen University, Hong Bang International University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, etc. have announced the minimum scores for university admission in 2025 so that candidates have more information to prepare for the upcoming admission round. Among them, some schools have reduced their minimum scores by up to 4 points compared to last year.

At Nguyen Tat Thanh University, in the Health sector, one of the key training sectors, the floor score this year is not much different from that of 2024.

Specifically, the Medicine and Dentistry majors have a minimum score of 22 points based on the high school graduation exam score, and 23 points based on the high school transcript score. In addition, the admission method based on the National University of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi 's National University of Education's score is also recorded at 600 to 650 points and 75 to 85 points for both majors.

The remaining majors of Nguyen Tat Thanh University have a floor score of 15 points for the admission method based on high school graduation exam scores and 18 points for the admission method based on high school transcripts, 550 points for the admission method based on the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's National University Entrance Exam scores and 70 points for the National University of Hanoi's National University Entrance Exam scores.

At Hong Bang International University, the minimum score for the method of considering high school graduation exam results and the method of combining high school graduation exam scores with grade 12 transcripts (1 transcript subject + 2 high school graduation exam subjects) is 15 points, applied to all regular university training majors in all major groups; including two majors in the field of Health, Public Health and Nutrition, and majors in other fields (according to the attached list of majors).

Particularly for majors in the Health sector that have a practice certificate/practice license such as: Medicine, Traditional Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Laboratory Technology, Rehabilitation Technology and Medical Imaging Technology, the minimum admission score will be applied according to the input quality assurance threshold prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training (announced on July 21, 2025).

At Hoa Sen University, the minimum score for admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores ranges from 15 to 17 points. If based on academic records, candidates must achieve 18 points or higher, calculated based on the average score of 3 or 6 semesters, or the score of 3 subjects based on a combination of three semesters.

The minimum scores according to the capacity assessment test method of Ho Chi Minh City National University and Hanoi National University are 600/1,200 and 67/150 respectively.

Meanwhile, the floor scores of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance this year decreased sharply, ranging from 1 to 4 points.

Specifically, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), two minimum scores are applied, including 18 points for the admission method based on high school transcripts (methods 2 and 3); 15 points for the admission method based on high school graduation exam results and the admission method based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's Competency Assessment Exam/VSAT exam (score converted to a 30-point scale).

For majors in the Health group, the input quality assurance threshold is implemented according to separate regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Similarly, for the University of Economics and Finance in Ho Chi Minh City, the school's admission score for 2025 based on the 2025 high school graduation exam results is 15 points for all training majors. With the admission method based on 12th grade transcripts based on a combination of 3 subjects and the average score of the entire 12th grade transcript, the admission score is 18 points.

For the results of the HCM City National University's Competency Assessment Exam, the school's admission score is 600/1,200 points, and for the V-SAT exam, it is 225/450 points.

According to the school representative, these are the minimum scores that candidates need to achieve to apply for admission to the school. This year, the admission score for the 2025 high school graduation exam results method will decrease by 1-4 points compared to 2024, depending on the training program.
