According to observations by Tien Phong reporters, from around 4 PM, the area along Tran Hung Dao street and the parks along the Han River became crowded. Even though the program was still several hours away, crowds continued to flock to free viewing spots for the fireworks display, hoping to find the best vantage point overlooking the stage and the fireworks display area. Many families brought tarpaulins, umbrellas, hand fans, and personal items to reserve their spots. Under the trees along the riverbank, groups of people spread out their tarpaulins to rest, chat, and wait in an atmosphere of anticipation. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (residing in Hoa Khanh ward) said that her family arrived at the riverside area very early to choose a good spot to watch the fireworks. “I came here around 3 PM to reserve a spot. In previous years, my family only stood far away, so the view wasn't as good. This year, we decided to come early to get a better position and fully enjoy the opening night,” Ms. Huong shared.
To secure the best viewing spots, many locals brought mats, tarpaulins, raincoats, and personal items to mark their seats early. Some groups of young people took turns guarding their belongings, while others took the opportunity to stroll around the festival area, eat, or take souvenir photos before the opening ceremony.
Many tourists from Hue, Quang Ngai, Ho Chi Minh City, and other localities said they had planned weeks in advance to visit Da Nang for this occasion. Despite having to wait in the prolonged hot weather, everyone seemed excited because DIFF is considered one of the most attractive cultural and tourism events of the coastal city.
To prepare for the long hours of waiting until evening, many families brought snacks, fruit, and drinks, resting and enjoying meals right along the Han River in the excited atmosphere before the festival's opening ceremony.
Not only locals, but also foreign tourists made sure to arrive early to choose a good spot to watch the fireworks display. The opening night of DIFF 2026 is expected to deliver spectacular fireworks displays as host country Vietnam faces off against China, a team highly regarded for its technical skill and performance effects. From early afternoon, the excitement of the festival spread throughout central Da Nang , signaling a night of explosive fireworks along the Han River.
