With a smartphone or tablet, visitors to the special national relic of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam can "travel back in time" to attend a talent selection exam or experience the feeling of passing the exam and riding a horse back to the village to "return home to pay respect to one's ancestors."
Those are the highlights of the digital heritage experience “Vietnam's Wonderful History” officially launched on the afternoon of November 23, celebrating Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day.
“Vietnam's Wonderful History” is built on augmented reality (AR) technology combined with artificial intelligence (AI), giving visitors a direct interactive experience with the cultural-historical space right at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic site.

AR technology allows traditional contexts to be recreated through visual images, helping visitors move from a passive observation role to an active experience, approaching heritage in a more vivid and engaging way.
Dr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, said that the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam is proud to be the first cultural relic in Vietnam to comprehensively apply AR technology, bringing a completely new experience to domestic and international visitors. This is not only a breakthrough in the field of heritage conservation but also a bridge to help the young generation approach and love traditional Vietnamese culture in a modern and vivid way.

The project is a testament to the orientation of "Preserving heritage with technology - Connecting the past with the future" on the occasion of this year's Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day.
Visitors can directly experience the application at three AR points arranged in the front yard of the Teacher's House area, including three contents: "Village School Classroom" recreates traditional educational methods; "Scholars Go to the Exam" simulates the solemn and emotional space of the imperial examination; "Returning Home in Glory" recreates the scene of the procession of new PhDs returning to the village in joy and pride.
At each point, iPad systems and dedicated display screens are prepared for visitors to easily operate. In addition, users can download the application "Vietnam's Wonderful History" to their personal devices to actively explore , completely free of charge./.
