According to information from the People's Committee of Xuan Tin commune, Thanh Hoa province, from the afternoon to the evening of September 29, floodwaters overflowed many points on the dike of Cau Chay river flowing through the commune.
Through field inspection by local authorities, due to prolonged heavy rain in recent days, the rising water level of Cau Chay River has caused a section of the river dike to overflow with a length of about 4.2km, with an average overflow height of 80cm.
Although previously, the People's Committee of Xuan Tin commune mobilized local forces and materials to fill the dike to prevent it from overflowing.
However, due to the large length of the dike, the flood water rose rapidly, making it impossible to build a dike to prevent the entire dike from overflowing.
