According to parents' feedback, the main office of Thanh Quan Secondary School is located at 29 Hang Cot, Hang Ma Ward (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi ). From April 1, to serve the construction and renovation of the main office, students were transferred to a temporary school at 40 Thanh Ha (Hoan Kiem).

However, parents said that the facilities at the temporary school were not up to standard and were in disrepair, with some cases of plaster ceilings collapsing. On April 3, a classroom's blackboard fell down by itself. On April 18, a student in class 7A3 had his leg hit by a falling ceiling, resulting in him having to wear a cast. The schoolyard and classrooms were very dusty, and electricity and water were unstable.

Parents are very worried and have repeatedly complained to the school but still cannot guarantee the safety of their students. Due to concerns about the school's facilities affecting the health of their children, many parents have let their children stay home from school even though this is the time of semester exams.

In response to the above reflection, speaking with Tri Thuc - Znews, Ms. Nguyen Kieu Duyen, Principal of Thanh Quan Secondary School, confirmed the incident.

Accordingly, the incident occurred on April 18, a piece of plaster from the ceiling of a third-floor classroom fell and hit a student. The student suffered a fractured ankle, and the school actively coordinated with the student's family to take the student to the hospital for examination. The student had to wear a cast, but was still able to go to school. At present, the student's health is stable.

Regarding the information that many families are worried and have temporarily stopped their children from school, Ms. Duyen said that so far, students in all classes have been attending school quite fully. On May 6, the whole school had 36 students (out of more than 800 students) who were absent with permission or sick.

The school has reported the above issues to the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District and the Department of Education and Training of Hoan Kiem District for solutions.

The district People's Committee has directed the school to remove all areas of the wall that are at risk of peeling to ensure the safety of students. After the plaster is removed, the ceiling will be redone.

In addition, the school also removed the ceiling fans and replaced them with wall-mounted fans. Currently, students can still attend school and live at the school as usual. It is expected that in April-May 2026, the school's main campus will complete construction and renovation and welcome students back.
