Solemn Commemoration Ceremony for National Ancestor Lac Long Quan

On the morning of April 22nd (the 6th day of the 3rd lunar month), a solemn ceremony commemorating the death anniversary of National Ancestor Lac Long Quan was held at the Temple of National Ancestor Lac Long Quan in the Hung Temple historical site, Phu Tho province, in the year of the Horse 2026.

On behalf of the people, soldiers throughout the country, and Vietnamese expatriates abroad, the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Phu Tho province offered incense, flowers, and offerings, expressing their profound gratitude for the founding and governing contributions of the National Ancestor.

At exactly 7:00 AM, amidst the sacred atmosphere of the "Tam Son Forbidden Area" and Sim Mountain within the Hung Temple historical site complex, the procession departed from the ceremonial grounds, crossing the bridge to the Temple of National Ancestor Lac Long Quan. Leading the procession were the honor guards carrying the national flag and the festival flag; followed by young women carrying offerings, incense, and flowers, along with the ceremonial music band and the palanquin carrying offerings from Hy Cuong commune.

Attending the incense offering ceremony were: Comrade Pham Dai Duong - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Comrade Tran Duy Dong - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chief of the incense offering ceremony; Comrade Nguyen Huu Dien - former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Bui Van Quang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; the Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee: Comrade Bui Duc Hinh - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Bui Thi Minh - Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Comrade Bui Huy Vinh, Comrade Nguyen Manh Son; Comrade Nguyen Huy Ngoc - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Hung Kings' Land Culture and Tourism Week in the year of the Horse 2026.

Comrade Pham Dai Duong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and Comrade Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, entered the main hall to offer incense, flowers, and offerings to express gratitude to the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan.

Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and organizations; members of the Organizing Committee for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the 2026 Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week; and leaders of the Party Committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Fatherland Front Committees of communes and wards in Phu Tho province.

At the shrine dedicated to the National Ancestor, the male ritual team of Hy Cuong commune performed the sacrificial ceremony according to traditional rituals, demonstrating solemnity and reverence.

Following the ceremony, delegates and a large number of people offered incense, flowers, and other offerings to commemorate the contributions of National Ancestor Lac Long Quan, who laid the foundation for the Vietnamese nation.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates prayed to the Ancestor for the prosperity of the nation, peace and security for the people, favorable weather, and lasting happiness for all families. Before the ancestral spirits, the descendants of Lac Hong pledged to continue the tradition of the Dragon and Immortal, unite, strive to overcome difficulties, and work together to build a peaceful and sustainably developing Vietnam.

The Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Phu Tho province affirm their determination to successfully achieve the socio -economic development goals set forth in the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress; while continuing to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the ancestral land, maintaining and restoring religious structures so that future generations can forever remember and honor them.

The commemoration ceremony for National Ancestor Lac Long Quan is an important opening activity in the series of ceremonial events of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Hung Kings Land Culture and Tourism Week in 2026.

Attending the ceremony for the first time, Mr. Dinh Quang Hoc (a tourist from Ninh Binh) emotionally shared: "I feel that the atmosphere here is very sacred. Attending the ceremony helps me to better appreciate the value of our national cultural heritage. I will tell my children and grandchildren about it so that future generations can continue to preserve this precious tradition."

Immediately after the official ceremony, thousands of locals and visitors from all over respectfully offered incense, expressing their boundless gratitude for the immense contributions of the National Ancestor and their forefathers.
