According to Koreaboo, many people suspect that HYBE has made deliberate moves to hinder NewJeans' operations, after a conflict with CEO Min Hee Jin of subsidiary ADOR - the manager of the NewJeans group.
Netizens have repeatedly questioned HYBE's malicious media behavior related to NewJeans. It seems that this group no longer supports NewJeans as before?
On July 9, it was announced that HYBE will collaborate with the Grammy Museum to organize a special exhibition about its artists called “HYBE: We Believe in Music, A Grammy Museum Exhibit”.
According to the introduction, “the exhibition celebrates HYBE’s legacy of innovation and creativity as a trendsetting global entertainment brand, and features artists such as BTS, Seventeen, TXT, Enhypen, LE SSERAFIM and many more.”
The goal is to introduce HYBE to visitors and show "the journey that HYBE has taken in the global music industry and the global market," said Kim Taeho, HYBE's operations director, adding, "This exhibition can be a very good impetus to penetrate the US music market."
The announcement was accompanied by a graphic introducing the artists who will be exhibiting.
Notably, all of HYBE's groups were present (BTS, Seventeen, TXT, fromis_9, Enhypen, LE SSERAFIM, &TEAM, BoyNextDoor, TWS, ILLIT), even the 2-week-old girl group KATSEYE. But NewJeans - one of the group's most popular girl groups - was absent.
On the online community theqoo, Korean audiences expressed mixed opinions. Many expressed disappointment because they thought HYBE had clearly shown an attitude of wanting to "erase" NewJeans, completely contrary to their previous promise to fully support the group.
However, some netizens speculate that the decision to participate in the exhibition or not is up to CEO Min Hee Jin and management company ADOR, HYBE will not blatantly remove NewJeans from an event that gathers all artists to receive criticism.
