
The event was organized by the Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Korean Embassy in Vietnam. On this occasion, VND550 million in cash was handed over to 11 households severely affected by floods, helping them overcome immediate difficulties in their livelihoods.

In addition, 30 households in Coc My commune, Bat Xat district were handed over new houses or supported to repair their houses, depending on the actual damage, the highest support level is 100 million VND/household. The construction and repair of houses were carried out to ensure safety, suitable to local conditions, helping people have stable housing before this year's flood season.

The activity is part of the project “Overcoming consequences in some northern provinces severely damaged by Typhoon Yagi and floods”, funded by the Korean Government through IOM. The total value of the project is estimated at more than 5 billion VND, expected to help 7,300 people in Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Cao Bang , Ha Giang and Hai Phong provinces overcome the consequences of natural disasters.


On the same day, the working delegation surveyed and summarized the project implementation results at the People's Committee of Coc My commune, Bat Xat district.
At the program, the Provincial Red Cross Society requested the commune authorities to continue to coordinate closely and prepare adequate facilities so that support activities take place safely and effectively, helping people stabilize their lives soon.
