Giving rice seeds to people on the border of Laos

On May 19, at the Vietnam - Laos border marker No. 597, Huong Phung Border Guard Station ( Quang Tri Border Guard) coordinated with the People's Committee of Huong Phung Commune, Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri Province and benefactors to organize the gift giving program "Border of Friendship".

This is one of the practical activities taking place in the Vietnam - Laos border area, on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

Huong Phung Border Guard Station presents rice seeds to government representatives and people of May village cluster.

The program's organizing committee presented 200 gifts including: 1.7 tons of high-quality rice seeds, 1 ton of rice, cooking oil, fish sauce and necessities to the people of Cheng village, Huong Phung commune and the people and police force of May village cluster, Se Pon district, Savannakhet province, Laos.

Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Quang Thuyen, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Huong Phung Border Guard Station, said that with the motto of "helping friends as helping ourselves", in recent years, in addition to effectively coordinating management and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and the common border, Huong Phung Border Guard Station has had many initiatives, new models, and good practices in helping people develop the economy, society, eliminate hunger, and reduce poverty with practical, effective, and highly sustainable work. In particular, the model of "Converting high-yield, high-quality crop varieties" has mobilized many resources from businesses, philanthropists, and the support and contributions of officers and soldiers of the unit. Thereby, contributing to tightening the special solidarity and friendship between the armed forces and people on both sides of the border; building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developing border area.
