Vitamin A is an important micronutrient for the health and overall development of children. Every year, children will be given high doses of vitamin A according to a national campaign with 2 sessions per year.

Supplementing vitamin A combined with deworming for children brings many benefits, such as: improving children's weight and height, reducing the rate of malnutrition in underweight or stunted children; increasing the concentration of zinc, hemoglobin and retinol, improving anemia; improving diarrhea and respiratory infections in children with stunted malnutrition.
To prevent vitamin A deficiency, it is necessary to ensure that children eat well; during pregnancy and lactation, mothers need to eat enough nutrients; breastfeed for enough time and pay attention to vaccination; ensure that children are nourished from the time of complementary feeding, meals need to have enough nutrients and vitamin A. Pay attention to foods rich in vitamin A and carotene such as liver, eggs, milk, fish, dark green leafy vegetables, yellow and orange fruits; take children of the right age to supplement vitamin A periodically according to the instructions of the health sector.
To prevent or reduce the risk of worm infections in children, give them deworming medicine every 6 months. Children should be taught to wash their hands after using the toilet and before eating; adults should also wash their hands before preparing food and feeding children; children should drink boiled water and let it cool, eat cooked vegetables, and peel fruits after washing; children should regularly cut their nails.
