Implementing the Decision on Regulations on State management responsibilities for food safety in Hai Phong city

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of November 15, the Department of Health chaired a conference to implement Decision No. 34/2024/QD-UBND dated October 30, 2024 of the City People's Committee on promulgating regulations on state management responsibilities for food safety in Hai Phong City. The conference was attended by nearly 400 delegates representing relevant departments, branches, localities and units in the city.

At the Conference, delegates listened to a report assessing the process of implementing the development and promulgation of Decision No. 34/2024/QD-UBND; some key contents and other contents of Decision No. 34/2024/QD-UBND compared to Decision No. 27/2018/QD-UBND. At the same time, the Regulations on state management responsibilities for food safety under the Department of Health, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Industry and Trade, District People's Committees, Commune People's Committees, and the tasks of civil servants monitoring food safety at the commune level were disseminated.

Deputy Director of the Department of Health Phan Huy Thuc delivered the opening speech at the Conference.

The Decision takes effect from November 15, 2024, replacing Decision No. 27/2018/QD-UBND dated September 14, 2018 of the City People's Committee promulgating the Regulation on state management responsibilities for food safety in Hai Phong city. The assignment of state management responsibilities for food safety is based on the principles of Article 36 of Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP dated February 2, 2018 of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Food Safety and according to the decentralization of state management of food safety between the Central and local levels; ensuring close and timely coordination between sectors and levels in state management of food safety; implementing decentralization to the People's Committees at district and commune levels in state management of food safety in the area.

Also at the Conference, delegates discussed and proposed solutions to implement the Decision most effectively.
