Data from the Vietnam Food Association shows that Vietnam's rice export volume in September 2025 decreased sharply when the Philippines - Vietnam's largest rice purchasing market - temporarily suspended imports.

In that context, Ghana became Vietnam's largest rice export market with nearly 22% market share.

Specifically, in September 2025, Vietnam's rice exports reached about 466,800 tons, equivalent to 232.383 million USD. Compared to the same period in 2024, export turnover in September decreased sharply, specifically down 43.27% in quantity and 54.73% in value.

Accumulated up to September 30, the total rice export volume reached 6.825 million tons, earning 3.486 billion USD, down 2.05% in output and 19.98% in value compared to the same period last year.
