On the morning of May 15, the Department of Agriculture and Environment held a conference to review the production of the Summer-Autumn and Winter-Spring crops in 2024 and deploy the production plan for the Summer-Autumn and Winter-Spring crops in 2025.
In the 2024 Summer-Winter crop, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has directed relevant units to support 905 tons of various rice seeds with a planting area of over 18,000 hectares; support over 1,540 hectares of safe fruit and vegetable production according to VietGAP; support 210 hectares of organic leafy vegetables, 5 models of quality organic rice production with an area of 100 hectares in the districts of Song Lo, Vinh Tuong, Yen Lac, Lap Thach; 6 models of organic fruit tree production with a scale of 2 hectares/model.
The province has newly issued 2 export growing area codes; 45 domestic growing area codes with an area of about 80 hectares on some crops such as rice, vegetables, fruit trees; supervised 26 export growing area codes for dragon fruit, chili, banana, grapefruit that were issued from 2018 - 2023 and 1 black jelly packaging facility in Tu Trung town (Vinh Tuong) has been granted a code that is eligible to export to the Chinese market...
The total production value of the 2024 Summer-Autumn crop will reach more than 1,800 billion VND; the Winter-Autumn crop will reach more than 1,400 billion VND.
With the forecast that the Summer-Winter crop in 2025 will continue to take place in difficult weather conditions due to climate change and unpredictable extreme weather, the provincial Department of Agriculture has proposed solutions such as promoting the shift in crop structure towards expanding the area of concentrated commodity crops with high quality, economic value, and a consumer market.
Encourage and facilitate enterprises, cooperatives, and cooperative groups inside and outside the province to invest in production, preliminary processing, processing, preservation, and consumption of agricultural products in the area.
Proactively plan irrigation and drainage for the Summer-Autumn crop production in conjunction with natural disaster prevention, especially ensuring enough water when there is drought and drainage when heavy rain occurs.
Promote the application of scientific and technical advances and mechanization in production, especially in land preparation, planting and harvesting to reduce labor pressure during the season and lower product costs.

Strive for the total annual crop planting area in the 2025 Summer-Autumn crop to reach 32,000 hectares; and the Winter-Autumn crop to reach 14,500 hectares.
