Designer and MC Huyen Chau - daughter of artist Van Chien - is the one who organized the exhibition for her father. She hopes to bring the audience deep feelings about the value of contemporary art, contributing to honoring her father's legacy.

"My father's paintings always evoke beautiful memories and emotions of the whole family every time I look at them. Even though that space may be cramped or messy, it is a whole world where I can soar in a magical story. My father's thoughts and experiences are recreated in every stroke," MC Huyen Chau shared.

Painter Van Chien was born in 1951 and graduated from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts in 1984. He is famous for his lacquer paintings because of his creativity on eggshells, depicting a variety of subjects, from Hanoi's Old Quarter, highland landscapes to communal houses, pagodas, and temples...

His works have left their mark on art lovers such as: My House, My Hometown, Bac Giang Landscape, Bao Loc Temple, Nam Dinh , Tay Tuu Village Communal House, Northwest in March...

He participated in national art exhibitions, bringing diversity and innovation to the research of painting styles in the art industry, contributing to enriching the cultural picture of the country.

He also exhibited many works in international exhibitions in the US, Japan, Germany, Norway... His paintings are not only a cultural bridge but also a colorful language of communication between peoples and nations.

In his work, the arrangement of colors is not only technical but also philosophical, reflecting the depth of the human soul. Blue and yellow often appear, bringing the meaning of peace, connection with the universe, hope and optimism.

"The versatility of acrylic allows me to create vibrant paintings. By combining it with other materials such as gel, ink, and even cardboard, I express my ideas and emotions in the most free and creative way," he shared.

The exhibition Memories and experiences: 100 artworks by artist Van Chien will last until April 25 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Exhibition House.
