Every day, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut (residing in Long Thang commune, Lai Vung district, Dong Thap province) and her relatives collect ripe star fruit. The star fruit is washed, dried in the sun, then fermented with alcohol for 3 months before being used.

Mr. Phan Van Nam shared: Ripe star fruit soaked in wine produces delicious juice, which is more profitable than raw star fruit and is favored by customers.

The product of soaked star apple fruit is consumed in Sa Dec city and the provinces of Can Tho, Bac Lieu , Ca Mau. Star apple fruit and star apple wine of Long Thang commune have increased their value, becoming a local specialty.
