According to the Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, on September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh, on behalf of the entire nation, solemnly declared the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam – opening an era of independence and freedom for the nation. To have that sacred moment, many generations fell. In that journey, the revolutionary press held a special mission: Leading the ideology, encouraging the spirit and spreading the aspiration for independence and freedom to every Vietnamese person.

From the first newspapers founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc to the revolutionary publications during the General Uprising, the press became a bridge connecting the will of the entire people, adding strength to the country's rise to seize power. Right from the first days of independence, the press promptly reflected the nation's enthusiasm, accompanying the young Government, affirming its indispensable position in the process of nation building.

“Today’s event recreates that historical journey through secret newspapers, fiery propaganda posters, photos capturing the historic Ba Dinh moment… All are witnesses of a nation that stood up to fight for the right to live. But more importantly, we want to send a message to today’s youth: The greatest legacy that our ancestors left behind is not only in the yellowed newspapers, but in the spirit of dedication, the spirit of serving the Fatherland and the People. That is the flame that we need to preserve and pass on,” emphasized journalist Nguyen Duc Loi.

Regarding this exhibition, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, also said that the exhibition is not only an opportunity to review the golden pages of history, honoring the revolutionary journalists who came before, but also has special significance for today's young generation. Students will have the opportunity to approach history in a vivid and intuitive way, through newspaper pages, photos, and sketches; thereby, feeling more deeply about the value of independence - freedom, and better understanding the responsibility of their generation in preserving and promoting the heritages that their ancestors left behind.

The thematic exhibition “Memories of Independence Day and Heritage for Young People” includes many exhibition spaces. In particular, the check-in area and 10 large panels are designed throughout. Revolutionary journalism from the beginning founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc is prominently displayed with newspapers such as Le Paria, Thanh Nien, Tranh Dau, Lao Dong, Co Vo San... - considered "sharp weapons" on the ideological front.

The space continues to recreate the seething revolutionary spirit through the newspapers Vietnam Doc Lap, Cuu Quoc, Tien Phong, the calls "Forward!" under the Viet Minh flag; strategic information "Japan - France fighting each other and our actions"; the climax of the August General Uprising; and the historical moment of the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam were enthusiastically reported in the press. The newspaper covers, sketches, and propaganda paintings celebrating National Day September 2 were selected from the collections of journalists and artists, preserving the mark of revolutionary art, bringing the public back to the heroic spirit of the early days of the nation's founding.

Notably, visitors to the exhibition can scan QR codes to explore 3D models of cultural and historical works in 34 provinces and cities. The AR virtual reality experience helps the younger generation connect vividly with heritage right in the exhibition space. On this occasion, the Organizing Committee released 500 copies of "Ngay Nay A80" - a supplement of Ngay Nay Magazine, with a collection of precious documentary photos about the historic Autumn of 1945, restored in color, with QR codes to enjoy the film footage of September 2, 1945, which will be distributed to attendees.

The exhibition runs until September 5.
