Regiment 935 successfully completed mission A50

On the morning of May 17, in Bien Hoa City (Dong Nai Province), Regiment 935 (Division 370, Air Defense - Air Force) held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its traditional day (May 21, 1975 - May 21, 2025) with the theme: "50 years of building, fighting and developing".

After the great victory in Spring 1975, the Ministry of National Defense issued Decision No. 78/QD-QP dated May 21, 1975 on the establishment of Regiment 935 with the mission of firmly protecting the airspace, sea, islands, and continental shelf in the South that had just been liberated.

In the battles to protect the Southwestern and Northern borders, Regiment 935 continued to make many worthy achievements and was honored by the Party and State as Heroes of the People's Armed Forces. Two pilots, Le Khuong and Nguyen Van Khang, were also honored to be honored as Heroes of the Armed Forces.

Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung presented Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals of Regiment 935.

Through the stages of weapon conversion, from F-5, A-37 to MiG-21, then to today's modern Su-27 and Su-30MK2, the Regiment has always made outstanding efforts, with a spirit of self-reliance, initiative, creativity and has continuously ensured solid flight safety for 30 years.

From 2015 to present, the Regiment has successfully completed the task of training L-39 and Yak-130 pilot courses to fly SU-30MK2 aircraft and hundreds of pilots and technical staff of air force units in the Service. In particular, in 2025, the Regiment successfully completed the A50 mission, joint training for parades and marches to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, presented a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of National Defense to Regiment 935.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Vu Hong Son, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, requested Regiment 935 to promote the tradition of the heroic unit of the People's Armed Forces, thoroughly and effectively grasp the Party's resolutions, especially the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee (Term XIII) on the Strategy for National Defense in the new situation. At the same time, be proactive, creative, self-reliant, and self-reliant; maintain strict implementation of the order, combat readiness regime, weapon management, flight management, avoid being passive and surprised, and firmly protect the Fatherland's sky.

On this occasion, the Minister of National Defense awarded a Certificate of Merit to Regiment 935; Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and many individuals with outstanding achievements in national defense and protection tasks.
