"Lim Ji Hye has passed away. The family hopes that friends, colleagues and fans will understand that we cannot contact each of you during this time of confusion," the family announced on the model's personal page. The model's funeral will take place on June 21.
The incident happened on June 11, when she went out drinking with some colleagues. After singing karaoke and drinking, she argued with another colleague and returned home in an inebriated state. When she got home, Lim Ji Hye livestreamed to share the reason for her anger: her colleague had not paid her salary. She also made public her will and repeatedly apologized.
In her will, the model told her two daughters: "My dear daughters, I apologize for being a shameful mother. You did nothing wrong so I hope you will not feel guilty. I will always be with you even though you cannot see me."
She also asked her ex-husband to take care of the child and mentioned another colleague's name. She then moved the camera out, and 20 minutes later, 119 paramedics entered Lim Ji Hye's house. Many viewers speculated that she had made an extreme choice.
