Song Da Vocational College celebrates 40th anniversary of its founding

Leaders of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee presented certificates of merit to Song Da Vocational College at the ceremony.

In 1985, in the context of the country entering a period of recovery and development after the war, in order to meet the demand for technical human resources for the national key project - Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant, the Ministry of Construction decided to establish Song Da Mechanical Workers School (now Song Da Vocational College). After 40 years of construction and development, Song Da Vocational College has gone through many stages of development, with many proud marks.

The school has trained tens of thousands of technical workers, technicians, and cadres with intermediate and college degrees; and has cooperated with many universities in part-time university training. Many of the school's students have become good experts, good technical staff, managers, and successful businessmen at home and abroad.

The school has trained hydropower plant operators for many small and medium-sized hydropower plants across the country, making an important contribution to the development of the national energy sector; and trained and granted driving certificates for all classes of cars to tens of thousands of local people.

In recognition of its great contributions to the cause of vocational education, Song Da Vocational College has been awarded the Labor Medal of the First, Second and Third Class. Many collectives and individuals have been awarded medals, certificates of merit and certificates of merit by the State, the Ministry of Construction , the Provincial People's Committee and other agencies. The staff and teachers are increasingly standardized; facilities and training equipment are invested synchronously and gradually modernized; the learning and training environment is increasingly professional and modern.

These achievements are the crystallization of intelligence, enthusiasm, solidarity and unceasing efforts of generations of teachers and students, and are a great source of motivation for the School to continue moving forward.

At the celebration, comrade Nguyen Khac Hieu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, suggested that in the coming time, Song Da Vocational College and related units should prepare well for merger and restructuring, build an advanced management model, focus on quality, learners, and businesses as strategic partners, promote cooperation with businesses so that the school not only teaches vocational skills, but also works with businesses to organize production, transfer technology, and conduct applied research. Each course must be closely linked to practical work, expand international cooperation, and link training according to regional and world standards.

The province is ready to support and create favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, infrastructure and policies for schools to participate deeply in the international vocational education network; to implement comprehensive autonomy, from finance to academics, human resources and partnerships. Autonomy is the right and opportunity for schools to promote creativity, dynamism and responsibility to society.

On this occasion, the collective of Song Da Vocational College was awarded a certificate of merit by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province for its outstanding achievements in the emulation movement and achievements; the Ministry of Education and Training awarded a certificate of merit to Song Da Vocational College for its outstanding achievements in the process of construction and development.
