The first university to establish the High-Speed ​​Railway Institute

Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport has just established the Institute for training and access to high-speed railway technology.

On October 12, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport announced the establishment of the High-Speed ​​Railway Institute.

At the announcement ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong - Principal of the school said that this is a pioneering unit with the country's mission in the railway development strategy in the coming time.

The High-Speed ​​Railway Institute will be a place to nurture talents who will shoulder the responsibility of developing modern transportation, helping Vietnam make strong strides on the path of integration and development.

Accordingly, the High-Speed ​​Railway Institute is tasked with training four main fields for the high-speed railway industry, promising to provide quality human resources in the future.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong added that recently, the Party Central Committee has agreed on the investment policy for the entire high-speed railway project on the North-South axis of 350km/h to be submitted to the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly for consideration and decision.

In his new position, Dr. Nguyen Van Duc - Director of the High-Speed ​​Railway Institute, pledged to lead the Railway Institute with a spirit of creativity, international cooperation and innovation...

The North-South high-speed railway project is not only part of the country's transport development strategy but also a strong driving force for a comprehensive transformation in the infrastructure system.

"This is an opportunity for us to apply the most advanced technologies in practice, to keep up with modern traffic trends," Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong emphasized.

According to the school's leaders, in 2008, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport began training in metro railway engineering.

Since 2023, the school's leaders have directly sent many working delegations to Japan, Korea, China and Europe to learn about high-speed railways.

The High-Speed ​​Railway Institute is responsible for training in four fields, including: high-speed railway construction engineering; high-speed railway mechanics; high-speed railway automatic control and signal information engineering; and high-speed railway transport exploitation.
