Hanoi National University of Education will convert independent exam scores on a 30-point scale.

At the Conference on implementing the independent exam (SPT) with partner schools for admission to full-time universities in 2025 held on April 9, Dr. Tran Cuong, Deputy Head of the Training Department, Hanoi National University of Education, said that in 2025, up to this point, there are 23 partner schools officially announcing the recognition of the results of the independent exam SPT of Hanoi National University of Education for university admission. The number of candidates registering for the exam also increased compared to last year, although the registration deadline is April 15.

Dr. Tran Cuong stated that through an investigation and assessment of the quality of candidates after at least one year of studying according to the admission methods, Hanoi National University of Education found that the rate of students admitted according to the SPT capacity assessment method with excellent and good academic performance ranked second only to the admission method of students who won national and provincial prizes and students from specialized schools nationwide.

Speaking at the conference, the representative of the Ministry of Education and Training, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) said: 2025 is the first year to organize the High School Graduation Exam according to the new General Education Program 2018. For the independent SPT exam, the conversion of equivalent scores from competency assessment exams to serve enrollment, the Ministry of Education and Training will soon have a guiding document so that schools have a basis to develop appropriate conversion methods.

Hanoi National University of Education has started organizing the exam since 2022 and by 2023, many schools in the teacher training school block have paid attention to the exam, with 8 schools using the exam results for admission. In 2024 - the third year of organizing the exam, the number of candidates participating has increased significantly, with 3 exam locations: Hanoi National University of Education, Quy Nhon University and University of Education - Da Nang University, the total number of candidates registered for the exam is 11,542 and 27,308 candidates took the exam in each subject.
