The only school in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, conducts entrance examination for grade 6

Accordingly, the candidates for admission to grade 6 of Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School are students who have completed primary school and are currently residing in District 7, with a score of 9 or higher on the final exam of grade 5 in Vietnamese and math. The scores of these exams must be confirmed by the principals of the primary schools.

Application documents include: Application form (with photo attached); original transcripts of Vietnamese and math (for students completing primary school outside District 7); 2 3x4 photos with full name, date of birth and name of primary school written on the back of the photo; photocopy of English certificate (if any).

Online survey registration time is from 8:00 a.m. on May 13 to 5:00 p.m. on May 16 at the address: https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn/khaosatlop6quan7 . Parents enter correct information as required, download and print the registration form for the 6th grade admission survey.

For elementary school students who are in grade 5 in District 7, from 13.5 to 11.00 on 17.5, parents submit survey registration forms at the elementary school their children are attending. From 22.5 to 24.5, parents receive survey cards at the elementary school.

For students who complete primary school outside District 7, parents submit paper applications and receive survey cards at Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School (No. 62 Lam Van Ben, Tan Kieng Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) also within the two time frames mentioned above.

Students who meet the admission requirements will take the 6th grade capacity assessment test at Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School on May 31 at Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School and Vo Thi Sau Primary School (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) for 90 minutes, including 2 parts:

• Multiple choice section (30 minutes): Students answer 20 multiple choice questions in English about their understanding of natural sciences , social sciences and common sense.
• Essay section (60 minutes) includes: English proficiency test: reading comprehension, writing (candidates take the test in English); Math and logical thinking ability test (candidates take the test in Vietnamese); Reading comprehension and writing ability test (candidates take the test in Vietnamese).

The 2025-2026 school year is the second year that Nguyen Huu Tho Secondary School enrolls 6th grade students through a competency assessment test. Students who are not admitted to 6th grade at Nguyen Huu Tho School will be assigned to 6th grade by the District 7 Department of Education and Training according to regulations.
