Missing a series of subsidiary awards at Miss World 2025, does Y Nhi still have a chance to make it to the top?

(Dan Tri) - Despite consecutive failures in the sub-contests, Vietnam's representative - Y Nhi - still has a chance in the final race. The final round of the Miss World 2025 contest will take place on May 31.

The Miss World 2025 pageant began in early May and will end on May 31 in India. This year’s pageant has a total of 108 contestants and Vietnam’s representative is beauty Huynh Tran Y Nhi.

As of May 26, 10 beauties have secured tickets to the top 40 of the Miss World 2025 contest, including: Namibia, Martinique, India, Ireland, Estonia, Indonesia, Turkey, Wales, Zambia, Trinidad & Tobago.

Y Nhi joined the competition quite quickly, always showing positive energy, proactively communicating with the media, and speaking fluent English.

However, the Vietnamese representative failed in many sub-contests. Ý Nhi's current achievement is top 48 in the Talent competition. She could not go deep into the following rounds of Miss Sports, Debate, Top Model ( Fashion Show).

According to experts, winning the sub-contest does not mean certain victory in the Miss World contest.

Many years ago, the representatives who went deep or won the title did not have outstanding achievements in the sub-contests. Therefore, Y Nhi's failure in the 3 sub-contests does not mean that she no longer has a chance in this year's competition.

A significant opportunity for Ý Nhi now comes from the Miss Multimedia Challenge. The Vietnamese representative is currently ranked 3rd with a total score of about 460,000. The beauty from Thailand is leading the overall scoreboard with a total score of more than 1.1 million and the representative from Sri Lanka is in 2nd place.

According to the rules, the winner of the Miss Media award will be given a special entry into the top 40. Audiences in Vietnam hope that Y Nhi will make a breakthrough at the last minute.

In addition, Ý Nhi still has the ability to "score points" with the judges in the interview about the charity project Beauty With A Purpose taking place on May 26. This is also a decisive part, greatly influencing the judges' choice.

Ý Nhi's current situation is quite similar to that of Vietnam's representative - Mai Phuong - at the Miss World 2024 contest. Mai Phuong also missed out on a series of subsidiary awards before the final night. However, thanks to winning the subsidiary award Miss Media, she went straight into the top 40.

Therefore, on social networks, Vietnamese audiences continue to send words of encouragement to Y Nhi, wishing her to stay strong and shine at the right time.

According to the rules of the Miss World 2025 Organizing Committee, the judges will select the top 40 from the sub-contests and the total score. Of which, 10 faces in the top 40 were determined before the final thanks to their achievements in the sub-contests.

Ý Nhi will have to compete with 30 contestants from 4 regions: Africa, Europe, Asia - Oceania, America - Caribbean for a chance to enter the next round. From the top 40, the judges will select the top 20, top 8 and top 4. The chance to enter the top is divided equally among contestants from 4 regions.

Finally, each continent will have a winner, then compete for the positions of Miss and 3 runners-up.

The current holder of the Miss World crown is the representative of the Czech Republic - Krystyna Pyszková. At the Miss World 2024 contest, the representative of Vietnam - Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong - stopped in the top 40.

Huynh Tran Y Nhi (born 2002) is 1.75m tall, has a harmonious face and an impressive academic record. She is a student majoring in Business Administration, International University - Ho Chi Minh City National University.

After being crowned, Ý Nhi chose to withdraw for a long time to study abroad in Australia. At the end of last year, the 23-year-old beauty temporarily stopped studying abroad and returned to Vietnam to prepare for the Miss World 2025 contest.
