Audio stories, a convenient form of "reading" books, are becoming fertile ground for YouTube channels that take advantage of AI technology to produce sensational, violent content to attract views, causing worrying consequences.
Audio stories are not a new concept on YouTube, attracting a large number of busy users who want to access content without having to spend time reading.
With the support of real human voices or AI, literary works, romance, detective stories, horror stories... are converted into videos of various lengths.
However, the rapid development of AI technology has been abused by many YouTube channels. They create a series of narrative videos with sensational and violent content, appealing to viewers' curiosity to attract interactions and views.
Disgusting, creepy audio story attracts millions of views
Creating content and images has never been easier thanks to a plethora of AI software and websites. With just a few simple commands, users can create content and images on demand.
Taking advantage of this, many YouTube channels have posted audio stories whose content, images, and voices are all products of AI.

The pinned comment channel affirms the fictional nature of the violent content, but it is unclear why it added the caption “conveying a positive message” (Screenshot).
Searching for the phrase "rich woman audio story" shows a series of videos with similar content and images, all generated by AI.
Despite their different lengths, these videos all have in common the sensational, violent plots created and read by AI.
With intriguing content and a detective voice, these videos quickly attract thousands, even millions of views and interactions.
Every day, these channels post 2-3 videos, attracting a large number of viewers and subscribers.
Virtual content, real impact
It is worth mentioning that many nonsense stories, even though the channels themselves admit that they are "untrue" and "all details are fictional", still attract viewers.
In fact, many people, especially the elderly or those with little knowledge of technology, believe that these stories are true.

Content, especially AI-generated images, are increasingly realistic, making it difficult to distinguish between real and fake. Taking advantage of trends and hot news, many YouTube channels also create videos "following" events to attract views.
Although AI brings many benefits, the proliferation of virtual videos with violent and offensive content is leaving serious consequences.
These audio story videos still attract thousands of views, and the more shocking and violent the content, the greater the interaction.
While many channels claim that their content is fictional and “disclaims responsibility,” that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t influence viewers’ perceptions and even their behavior. Disclaimers are simply a way for channels to “clean themselves up” from the trash they create.
The question is what will happen if viewers cannot distinguish between fake news and real news, or how will children be affected when they accidentally watch content with many violent elements?
Dr. Nguyen Van Son, lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi ), emphasized: "AI can bring many practical contributions to the community and society, but when exploited and used for the wrong purposes, it can bring many serious consequences."

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Son, users need to raise their awareness and responsibility when approaching and applying AI (Photo: Character provided).
Dr. Son called on users, especially young people, to raise awareness and responsibility when approaching and applying AI, aiming to create quality, civilized products instead of spreading trash and offensive products that are rampant on cyberspace.
The habit of listening to audio stories is not bad, but unintentionally helping people take advantage of this habit and technological advances to create violent and offensive products is polluting the online environment.
Users need to verify information and equip themselves with a "filter" to avoid being led astray by false information that causes public confusion.
