Teaching Quan Ho singing and Cheo performance to students

BAC NINH - On the morning of August 25, Bac Ninh Cheo Theater organized a closing ceremony for the class teaching Quan Ho singing and Cheo performance for students of Ngo Si Lien Secondary School (Bac Giang ward).

Since mid-August, artists from the Bac Ninh Cheo Theatre have taught Quan Ho singing and Cheo performance to 25 talented students of the school who love traditional arts. During the class, the students were introduced to the unique features of two art forms that have been recognized as national and international intangible cultural heritages; and were instructed in singing and performance skills.

Students perform the Quan Ho tune "Please drink water, please betel".

After the course, the students know how to sing and perform fluently basic Quan Ho tunes such as: "Moi nuoc moi trau", "Trinh rung 36 thu chim", "Muoi nho", excerpt from Cheo "Ly truong, me Dop"... At the closing ceremony, the students performed the Quan Ho and Cheo tunes they had learned, which were highly appreciated by the audience.

Implementing the school stage development project, from August 24 to 30, Bac Ninh Cheo Theater organized Quan Ho singing and Cheo performance lessons for nearly 100 students from the following schools: Ngoc Son Secondary School (Hoang Van Commune), Thai Thuan High School ( Bac Giang Ward) and Ly Thuong Kiet High School No. 1 (Van Ha Ward). Supported the establishment of 4 Cheo singing and folk singing clubs in the localities: Song Lieu, Yen Dung, Canh Thuy and Dong Viet.

The excerpt "Village Chief, Mother Dop" was performed excellently by students of Ngo Si Lien Secondary School.

The activity is part of the 2025 traditional art development plan of Bac Ninh Cheo Theater to preserve and spread folk cultural values ​​to the younger generation, contributing to promoting cultural identity associated with tourism development and local socio -economic development.

According to the leader of Bac Ninh Cheo Theater, through the teaching and performance program, students will understand and love traditional art more, thereby nurturing pride and responsibility in preserving and promoting the precious traditional cultural heritage of their homeland.
