Enterprises accompany people of Da Mai ward to overcome consequences of floods

BAC NINH - In order to promptly share difficulties with people affected by natural disasters, on October 17, MM Mega Market Vietnam Limited Liability Company coordinated with companies of TCC/BJC Group (Thailand) to deploy an emergency relief program to support people in Da Mai ward.

At Ngoc Tri and Dong La residential groups, sponsor representatives directly presented 410 gifts including instant food, drinking water, cleaning solutions and personal care products. These are essential necessities to help people overcome the difficult period after the flood.

On this occasion, MM Mega Market Vietnam Co., Ltd. and other units of TCC/BJC Group also supported a total of nearly 1,400 gifts for people in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces. The total value of the gifts is more than 300 million VND.

Previously, due to the influence of storm No. 11, Da Mai ward experienced prolonged heavy rain, causing widespread flooding in 17 residential groups, of which 3 residential groups (Ngoc Tri, Dong La, Tien Dinh) were completely isolated; more than 2,000 households were affected.

The flood caused a landslide of 105 meters of the right bank of Thuong, submerged 12 units of Cong Trang pumping station, damaged the sluice gate over Dong La dike; nearly 100 hectares of rice, 26 hectares of vegetables and more than 200 hectares of aquaculture area were damaged.

To respond promptly, the People's Committee of Da Mai ward mobilized nearly 1,000 police officers, soldiers, militia, teachers and volunteer groups to participate in dike protection, evacuating nearly 950 people and their properties out of the danger zone, supporting flood control and providing food, drinking water and disaster prevention materials.

Up to now, landslides and dike overflows have been initially handled. The locality is continuing to clean the environment, disinfect after flooding, check the safety level of houses and civil works, and maintain 24/7 duty to ensure people's safety.

The support activities of businesses and the efforts to overcome the consequences of the government and people of Da Mai ward demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and community responsibility, contributing to helping people soon stabilize their lives, restore production and ensure the safety of dykes and infrastructure in the area.
